This species breeds to the north of the county at Cannock Chase. Until 1997, the only record for the county was for 1984 when it was found by John Paul at Coleshill Bog. It was probably vagrant.

In 1997 vagrant individuals were seen at Snitterfield Bushes and Kingsbury Water Park.

A vagrant individual recorded at Marsh Lane Nature Reserve, Hampton-in-Arden in 2007.

In August 2008 a female seen at North Warwickshire Golf Club, Meridan.

Several individuals were seen at Marsh Lane Nature Reserve, Hampton-in-Arden on a number occasions between 11 September and 12 October 2009.

On 11 September 2012 a single male was seen at Middleton Lakes.
